Mind Speaking Technique
A technique which requires no kata. The Akatsuki Leader has shown the ability to speak within the minds of the other Akatsuki. Howe he does this is unknown, but it could be speculated that he uses the Akatsuki Rings to transmit this thoughts to them. This technique is only known by the Akatsuki Leader.
Akatsuki Astral Projection Technique
This unnamed astral projection technique is used by Akatsuki to gather at one location, even while members are in different parts of the world. By forming the needed hand seal, an astral form of their being will appear at the desired location. This spirit can act in conjunction with other members to do combination jutsu like the Genryuu Kyuu Fuujin. While in the spirit form, the member’s voice will sound deep and distorted.
Gofuu Kekkai -/~/- Five Seal Barrier
Gofuu Kekkai is a Fuuinjutsu technique utilized by Akatsuki. The five "kin" (prohibition) seals act together to form a barrier to the entrance of their cave. The cave door itself is marked with one tag, and four other tags are located within a few hundred meters of each other. To remove the barrier, all five tags must be removed at the same moment.
Knowing that the barrier has this weakness, Akatsuki added a further protection. When the four surrounding tags are removed, a doppelganger of the person who removed it will emerge from the ground and battle them. The doppelganger can utilize all the same moves as the original, even bloodline techniques.
Shouten no Jutsu -/~/- Shape Changing Technique
Shouten no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique used by the leader of Akatsuki. This technique will allow a person to sacrifice their body so it can take on the almost real form of another. This technique is like Edo Tensei, but it allows for a live ninja to inhabit the body of another. Also unlike Henge which is just an appearance transformation for a ninja, this technique will allow the sacrifice to play the host for a virtual copy of another ninja.
The other ninja will totally control the sacrifice and donate a portion of their own chakra to the sacrifice to provide it chakra. While the ninja acts in the sacrifice body, it can perform most all techniques it normally does apparently except for bloodline techniques, though even this may be a limitation of the chakra. This is because the techniques are limited to however much chakra the ninja has donated. Once the chakra runs out and the sacrificial body dies, the shape change will end and the lifeless body of the sacrifice will be revealed.
Genryuu Kyuu Fuujin -/~/- Complete Nine Mystical Dragon Seal
Genryuu Kyuu Fuujin is a Fuuinjutsu technique utilized by Akatsuki. To further their goals, they seek to capture all the "jinchuuriki," literally "the power of human sacrifice" a.k.a. demon possessors such as Uzumaki Naruto and Gaara. Akatsuki seeks to use the bijuu (tailed demon beasts) for their unique abilities. Once they capture one of the jinchuuriki, they will bring them to a hidden location. All nine members need not be physically present; they can use their astral projection technique to transport a spectral form of themselves into the cave.
The members will first summon the huge "king of hell" statue. This statue has its mouth bound and eyes covered. Once they begin the technique, the mouth binding will fall away and nine spectral dragons will emerge from its mouth to strike the jinchuuriki. This will then begin the extraction process. With the absence of Orochimaru, the process will take three straight day and nights. During this period the members will release the same exact amount of power as that of the bijuu, this synchronization will thus allow its removal. As the extraction continues, the statues eyes will open to reveal the current status of previous jinchuuriki captures, with irises appearing in the eyes to apparently represent a capture.

History:
The Akatsuki Leader, as his title suggests, leads the organization known as the Akatsuki. This organization consists of several S-ranked criminals from several different known villages, and from looking at the character Hidan, maybe some unknown villages. He is addressed as ‘Leader’ by his subordinates, who he seems to respect, except for Hidan. He is also the creator of the various Akatsuki specific jutsus.
The Akatsuki Leader lead the extraction of Shukaku from the Jinchuuriki Gaara. It was then when he noted that Kisame had the largest amount of chakra in the Akatsuki. At that time, the Sealing Statue first appeared and the process of taking and re-sealing a Bijuu was shown. It was then shown that after this process, the host of the Bijuu that had been taken dies.
The Akatsuki Leader was never shown outside of his holographic form until now It was then when he displayed his knowledge of the different villages and revealed his ultimate plan to take control of the Bijuu and take over the world. However, he must do this in a set period of time. As noted , the Bijuu must be sealed in order from the Bijuu with the least amount of tails to the Bijuu with the highest amount of tails. There was also mention of a time limit to do this.

Sitting down, legs crossed, arms turned in, hands together -- he was silent. His eyes were closed and his brow, furrowed. His concentration was great at this moment. He did not smile, not one bit. He merely sat there, holding his position, and expression. Then, for one quick second, his brow jumped. Something had happened. Something of interest had happened.
The lids of his eyes shot open, the red hue drawing in the attention of any who saw them. In his eyes were rings -- black in color --- that appeared to belong to a Sharingan. But they were not Sharingan eyes. They were different -- less sinister. Yet, they were sinister all the same. He slowly stood, bringing his hands to his sides. The ring on his right thumb became hidden under the sleeve of his cloak.
As he stood, he arched his head back, staring at the ceiling for a moment. Then he brought his head down, setting his vision to that which was ahead of him. Ahead of him was the entrance to his lair, the Akatsuki's base of operations. Behind him was a large statue, and on the hands of the statue, there were a collection of figures. He turned around and brought his hands together in front of his chest. Suddenly he disappeared, and then reappeared on the right thumb of the statue, hands still held together.
